I have replaced my 80GB HDD with a 750GB HDD (I know that's huge but the offer was too good to miss!!). All went well...back up data on etc but I have noticed that the available space has reduced A LOT. I know the PS3 takes a bit for recovery etc so it's now 698GB in total, but I only backed up 64GB data and for some reason it's saying I only have 554GB of space available. This means theres 80GB space being used and I don't know what it is. Is there any chance I could have backed up twice? What else could be taking up this memory? Thanks!! Never done this before and quite proud of how well it went.

Also earlier on I checked when I logged on and it said I was only using 64GB but now it's saying im using 140GB again. Very weird. Not sure if I've explained that well sorry. thanks
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong...
I seem to remember reading on these forums somwhere that the ps3 reserves a percentage of the HDD's capacity, not a set amount. So a larger capacity HDD is going to have more space allocated for the system than a smaller HDD. At least that's how it used to be. They might've changed that since I upgraded my HDD a few years ago.
So does the ps3 reserve memory on a percentage system? Guess that would make sense as to why is seems like such a large amount, with it being such a big drive.
Phones not updating quickly...sorry for overlapping questions and responses :-)
Tbh it's not a problem...it's still a big enough drive...got 550 left after my save data do its not gonna cause any problems. I was just a bit confused.
