PS3 Divx playback troubles

22 replies 798 views Edited Mar 3, 2008
I notice that an awful lot of my Divx shows lose audio sync with the video at a certain point. I know it's not my Divx's themselves because this doesn't happen on the PC or 360. Sure hope they fix this!
. Last game I bought for PS3 was GT5P.
1.PC (X4 9750 overclocked, 4GB 1066 RAM overclocked, Radeon HD4870 extremely overclocked, 500GB 'cuda) Bring on Farcry 2 DX10 1920x1080 4XAA at 44fps

I get this too, someone in a thread i posted ages ago said its the audo.

Also mine are XviD encoded (I'm pritty sure they are anyway)

Anyone know of any fix? (Apart from converting to a format the PS3 likes)

I sure hope someone has a solution for this because I have the problem too.

I downloaded Michael Clayton the other day, from a friend who I've never met before, and tried to play it on my PS3. Everything was fine until I had to pause to take a piss. When I restarted the movie the lip synching was off by about three seconds.

The file works fine on my PC, but I would like to take advantage of the Divx feature on the PS3 so that I can watch vids on my tv.

So your pirated movie didn't work properly. Should we all feel bad for you?

Properly coded ones work perfectly fine. Your just complaining b/c your pirated movies are having problems.

i haven't had any trouble with audio desyncs on ps3.

but regardless the ps3 divx capabiltiies are crap. just watch it on your computer and live with it or buy/rent the movie. i have at least 400-1000 xvid/divx files and only 50 work so far. if your file is 30min long and encoded at 1mbps it will not play. but a 3 min file encoded at 2.5mbps plays fine. dvix 3.x doesn't work as well, and i have quaite a few files encoded in this form. now all my dvix/xvid file work on my divx ready dvd player but that thing cuts the sides of the file basically it can't aspect ratio them to save its life.

so in this sense dvix on ps3 crap. i like quality and ps3 is not equiped to play quality divx files for some stupid ass reason.

if you want to play your divx files on your hdtv i suggest you go out and buy a laptop with an hdmi out. this way all your files will work. mp4, avi, mkv, ogm will play on your tv.
