UPDATE: It is real. The picture the seller took were crappy. Perhaps there is something wrong with it that's why it's being sold at such a loss.
Here's better pictures from kotaku:
Wow! I got given one of these! I don't have any pics, can get some for proof if you like.
The guy who gave it to me (my boss) got given it as it didn't work.
He, inturn gave it to me to have as he couldn't get it working.
I found out it needed to be video reset. It was configured to run on a HDTV and we commoners only have SDTV's.
A quick 5 minute google fixed that. I gave it back to him and the contorller didn't work. He took that apart (NEVER DO THAT.!)
And his little boy damaged the Blu-ray Drive. He gave it back claiming he didn't have time for it. So a bit more googleing and some fumbling around fixed the damaged drive. Now I have this machine in my bedroom trying to update it so it plays more modern games and will work Netflix.
I didn't know it was such a Hot topic piece of kit. Is it illegal for me to own this machine? I am not a developer, hacker or programmer. I am a fixer. I mend stuff, anything really. so it was gonna be a second hand games machine for my bedroom. I also learned from a friend that because it was an early version (didn't realise pre-retail) that it would probabely run PS2 games as it has some fangled emotion chip in it! Double bingo!
so can i claim bragging rights?
PS3 debugging station test console model dechj00a i have one is it really worth 10,000$????
i paid 400$ for it today
Thats an old unit, and its $10k valuation is what it costs to buy one directly from Sony.... theres plenty of places that have this for sale for around $400-1000...
Unless you're a programmer, this isn't any better than a normal PS3.
Good conversation piece for most people.
