no need to. there plenty of third parties making ps3 controllers using the 360 form factor that work well

The Playstation design was fine for abotu 15 years. Now suddenly the only new idea is to "make it like the 360 controller". Not exactly an improvement now, is it?

The ps controller design is god tier, or it has been. No other controller fits the hand the way the ps does. But the Xbox controller only feels better for shooters, but not by much.
They should make a design that has same shape but can be broke down to 3 pieces and allows to move the analog in different positions on the controller. Plus after marketanalogs sticks. But that would be expensive plus idiots would lose parts. But it could allow to repair controllers instead of buying a new one. So that's probably a bad idea cause so.y rather sell new ones

I bet the form factor will stay the same in the ps 4 as well... maybe a few tweaks such as trigger style L2and R2 buttons

the PS3 controller is kinda small for me thats why I want to make it. but I need to get a shell for it and tinker with it. (y'no because the ps3 triggers and the placing of the left thumbstick)

It's small for you. Remember, there are over 6 BILLION people that aren't you. Make it bigger and you run the risk of it being too big for a lot of people and younger players whose hands aren't as big. Making it bigger is not necessarily "improving" something.
