You should go to PSN and download PS2 data utility pack. It will fix your problem.currently playing: waiting for Madden 11
I did a search on "PS2 data utility pack" on PSN and I couldn't find anything matching your description.
All I could find was the "PS2 System Data" program that provides PS2 HDD support for PS3s with PS2 backwards compatibility in hardware (EE+GS) or software/hardware (EE via Cell emulation+GS). This file doesn't do anything for the PS3 slims - at least not according to PSN.
Personally, I use this file to play FFXI on my PS3. Prior to its release, my PS3 couldn't emulate the PS2 HDD to install FFXI.
So will my phat 80GB CECHK01 be able to make use of these PS2 classics?
Yes, all PS3 models will be able to play PS2 classics...
Need Jak & Daxter games and kingdom hearts.
Apparently a Jak & Daxter collection will be remastered and sold at retail as soon as January.
GTA: SA PS2 Classic...
I'm mixed about this. That is my favorite GTA game, and played it over and over on PS2. But then I got it on PC and I have to say I'd rather see that version get a port like Cysis, and other PC games on the PSN store. After all the PS3 is easily stong enough to run it at a far higher resolution and framerate than the PS2 version would be limited to. And that game looks fantastic.
As for PS2 classics though, I'm not trying to nay-say it. I thinkits great to see any PS2 support on PS3 again As for me, here's hoping ofr Dragon Quest VIII...
So it seems to me that a PS2 software emulator was possible after all, but Sony chose the money milking road for it. They did it already with the PSOne classics. I have plenty of PSOne games not working that still are sold in the PSN. It's nice for the games I never played, but to have all FF and KH games getting dust (my PS2 failed)with Sony soon to resell then on PSN i's a little upsetting.
- I'm not a Playstation fanboy. I'm a Micro$oft hater. It's different.
