[ Edited ]

I know these aren't major websites, but I'm grasping onto every little bit of hope. Both articles are from mid 2012. Is this legit?

Read the last paragraph of this article:

Here's another article:

I think the PS lifestyle article has some validity. Streaming games would potentially allow any device to play any game. The lasted rumor I read was that the Cloud would allow the PS4 to play any game available on PSN previously only available on older consoles.

We will just have to see...

I didn't really understand how that would work. Could you explain further, please?

This is the lastest rumor I read:

"Omni is also part of their philosophy with the new OmniCloud, the new version of Gaikai. This service will not only cloud stream PS1, PS2 and select PS3 games to Playstation Certified devices but will also allow every digital and retail purchase to have access to a copy on the cloud. Basically, you buy one game, you can use it on any Plyastation device."

So does this pertain to only digital copies of games or will people with physical copies of games be able to use this some how. I don't really what this is.

Yes, digital copies only.

What Gaikai is, is like Netflix Streaming, but for games.

Or you could just buy a PS2 if you want to play PS2 games. :smileywink:

Re: PS2 backwards compatibility? (multiple sources)

The trend seems to be trending toward providing BC through virtualization and streaming on the server end, so that actual BC hardware (or software emulation) doesn't need to be done on the user end.

The rumor source I quoted also mentioned an add-on to the PS4 that will allow for playing PS3 games...
