Good day all,
I just got a PS Vita with FW 1.81 and was trying to pair via bluetooth my premium headset, the Sony MW1 (http://store.sony.com/p/Sony-Android-Mobile-Phone-
It seems to recognize the headset and pair initially, but when it tries to connect, it disconnects within seconds. Everytime I hit connect it will only do it and disconnect within seconds. I noticeed that othe bluetooth devices seem to connect based on a key or PIN that is typed in, whereas on my MW1, it sends the 5 digit pin and asks for the Vita to confirm, which it does but again does not connect and stay connected. This headset is from Sony, the Vita is also from Sony....I am shocked and in awe that this combination would not work.
I will post a video on youtube later on to illustrate the issue some more.
Anyone have this issue or know of this?
The headset is "premium" based on it's features that aren't rivaled by anythign on the market. The aspect of radio/mp3/dual bluetooth is a great bunch of features rolled into one nice sized device with great audio output. Not to mention the extra applications you can enhance the headset with if you have an android phone (I have an SGS 2). So it seems to do all the great things I need and want except stay connected with my Vita. In which I want it to pair and connect with my Vita for music and sound to play through it, and if that works then I can simultaneously pair it with me SGS2 to answer incoming calls or make outgoing calls on it without having to unpair from the Vita. It's a great match for my environment and lifestyle. Now I have to unplug and wire in to the Vita. It's absolutely dumbfounding that a Sony device of the MW1's calibre is not functionning with a Sony PS Vita.
Looks like the issue may be BT 2.0 vs BT 3.0. The MW1 uses BT 3.0 and the MW600 uses BT 2.0 which seems to be what the Vita uses....thus my only option would be to sell my MW1 and get a cheaper but useful MW600, short of Sony providing a good firmware sometime soon.
