I was playing Twisted Metal today and trying to use the on-screen keyboard to chat. It was cumbersome using the DualShock 3. I then looked at my PS Vita light bulb clicking. Why can't I use the wonderful touchscreen as my keyboard for my PS3? mmmmmm.....Come on Sony show the world what this technology can really do.
You actually can, I've been using my Vita to send message while in game on my PS3. It's a lot faster than the XMB.
I'm not really sure how the Vita signs into PSN. PS3 users can't see Vita users, so I guess it doesn't count as a second device signing in.
This is not about sending messages. This is about using the ON SCREEN KEYBOARD for the PS3. During ANY GAME OR APPLLICATION. Like text chatting in the lobbys chat rooms for online games. This is about using the PS Vita touchscreens keyboard for the input for that same PS3 on screen keyboard. This is the idea. Sync it through Bluetooth like the ps3 already supports Bluetooth keyboards.
This would be VERY simple to program too. I work as a game programmer and wish I could do it for them. Simply create an App for the PS Vita that outputs a signal through bluetooth to emulate a bluetooth keyboard. The app would simply be a full screen touch keyboard. Wish I had a PS Vita dev kit on my hands.... Nothing would have to happen on the PS3 end for this to happen.
