A great addition to the PS Vita would be Sony ACID Pro.....
I'd like the ability to work on my tracks while away from my desktop PC, and without having to take my laptop. It should also allow use of content manager to sync with Sony ACID Pro for PC. ....& if possible Include MIDI, SW Synths & VST Plugins.
C'mon Sony..... Make it happen.
That would be cool, as long as it is feature rich... like on the iPad. We would also need some sort of 1/4" or Mic input accessory. Id be down, as I am always coming up with new ideas away from the studio and on the road.
It already has Bluetooth headset capabilities, just gotta Bluetooth Stereo headset with quality mic, and that should work.
---..>.> better yet, a Bluetooth Device for 1/4" and XLR Inputs for Instrument/Mic & a Headphone/Line Out jack.
No thanks on the bluetooth thing. Introducing any delay/ lag to tracking(no matter how small) is never a good thing in recording. Even though the Vita wouldnt be the primary recording device for any serious project, I still wouldnt want to add any kinks in the chain. By adding any piece of external gear... thats exactly what you do. Especially if you go wireless.
delay... oh yeah, didn't think about that with the bluetooth. it does lag about 1/2 sec. but it'd be a great way to throw some ideas on tracks, chop em up and sample. if u look within preferences in ACID Pro, you'll see it has adjustments to compensate for latency, and good engineer will always make necessary adjustments to get the proper mix.
Not sure you can compensate after the fact, though. In my studios, we use Reaper and Pro Tools... so Im not too familiar with ACID. It would be very cool to be able to use the Vita as a portable studio. I cant tell you how many times Ive been on vacation and had a great idea... but didnt have my recorder handy. I was using the H2 Recorder, which was a nice little device, but doesnt help if you want to lay down some beats and piano tracks. Though, with the Vitas small screen(smaller than the ipad), playing keys would be challenging. Beats would work well, though.
Before you posted this, I had never really thought of the Vita as a recording device... I would definitely use it, as long as the software was serious enough for producers on the go. It would also be nice to be able to upload your creations to your home computer or send them via email for backup.
Lots of possibilities with this little machine...
i would llove this!!!
