They use two COMPLETELY different charging ports.

If you look at the charger and the usb cord that came with the vita, they're keyed to each other. The USB male end of the cable has grooves which match the prongs on the charger side. You'd have to force the apple USB cable in there or cut off the prongs from the charger somehow.

I think he's talking about the portable charger from sony themselves.... and yes anything with a regular usb connection can charge from that. I haven't seen anyone say Apple stuff wont' charge from it. Personally I went with the Nyko grip / charger. Got about 8 hours on it before going to te battery in the vita itself, and don't have a cord hanging off the bottom (plugged into sony's charger)..... and the plug's not poking my groin if I'm in the recliner with the vita on my lap.

If the Nyko ever dies I'll prolly get Sony's.... or get another Nyko lol. And it's already down to like $35 on Amazon NEW, so it's not 50 bucks anymore. The 32 GB card is 80 too fyi, unlike the stores that sell it for 100.... Hoefully when I get around to gettting the 32 gig card it'll be around 50 which is more reasonable for 32 GB....
