PS Vita: Can one connect to another?

7 replies 1335 views Edited Oct 5, 2011

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone new if you could connect one ps vita to another.  The reason I ask this is because I wish to use the Wi-Fi only model to play

with friends without either of us having internet connection.  I'd appreciate if you answered this as soon as you can if you know.  Thanks!

I don't know, but you should check out the Vita forum rather than the PSP forum.

Yes you should move the question to the PSVita forums, but to answer you question you should be able to play in ad-hoc mode as wel as iinfrastructure mode, it will depend if the game supports it.

I don't see why not. The Near feature would seem pretty dull if you can't connect to other Vitas.

it was confirmed at TGS that the psvita can indeed do adhoc mode as shown with Army Corps of Hell, and it can also do adhock mode with psp.

The 'near' function seems to connect to a central server find locations of other PSVitas as it will display people outside the range of your wifi antenna. How near someone is will be relative, the nearest could be a few miles away or just a few feet, and I expect you can zoom in or out of the display to see further afield.
