nope it just flashes blue briefly and then stops, but it happens so often throughout the day from people sending me messages or logging in.

That's what happens to me often. I have come to the conclusion that it is because I move it.

"Move it"?

Yes, because every time I pick it up, or move the object it is sitting on, it turns on, blinks rapidly and shuts off. I turn it on thinking I got a notification, but none are there.

When I'm not using it I leave it on the cradle and it flashes constantly throughout the day without me doing anything with it.

Yes, it does that, also goes dark sometimes, other times is just solid blue. Whatever. I like blue and I like black, just not flashing blue.

I guess that's the mystery of the blue PS light then, lol. Anyway, it does not bother me in any way; it's not like the light is hitting my face or shouting at me (yes, figure of speech).

It just doesn't make sense to have an option to not use it and it still does it anyway. That definitely needs to be fixed soon.

Well, the option does do its job: preventing the blue light to light up when notifications arrive. The thing is that we don't know why the blue light is being turned on. Like I stated before, I don't see any notification after I see the blue light flicker like crazy.

The light for notifications is unnecessary imo. Red would be appropriate for charging related issues. Blue would be nice if you the system sleeping. Orange for if there are freezing issues.

Well according to the manual it should be flashing, i'm just wondering because since we all have the same firmware, shouldnt my Vita be like your Vita, where it would flash on standby, but instead mine stays solid? and sorry i overexagerated, th light doesnt stay on for a long while, but only around 10-20 seconds, kinda varies at each standby. and i deleted all my notifications, so i dont think that would be it.

Mines does not flash in standby, it will stay blue. Once it goes into sleep, LED is off.
