Optical to RCA question

[ Edited ]

So if i want to get an optical cord that changes to RCA, do I have to buy $40 converter, or is there some cable that had an optical output on one side and an RCA output on the other side? I don't want to spend that much money to get my headset to work.  I might as well buy a new pair.

wireless PDP Afterglow. I got a usb slot extender because it wouldn't fit, and when i plug the usb into the tv (because there is no rca cables) it works, but there is no sound coming from the tv, and that would get bothersome to continually have to unplug and plug it back it when switching between TV, PS4, PS3 and wanting to use the headset or not. but if I had the RCA cables I wouldn't have that problem.
