On-Line Pass Region Locked?

5 replies 133 views Edited Sep 29, 2012
I've seen a few questions on different sites about using the on-line pass from a US region game in a different region PSN account... I can't seem to find an answer!
Are On-Line Pass codes region locked?

Online passes are to be treated the same way as DLC & as such need to purchased from/for the same region as the original game, yes they are region locked.

So just to clarify since I'm slightly slow in understanding...
An On-Line Pass code that came with the game (NA region) will not work if the PSN account is for a different region?
And an On-Line Pass code from the EU region won't work with a game from the NA region?
Again sorry... I'm stupid when it comes to the whole region lock/un-locked stuff!

No need to apologize.

Ypu are correct, an onine pass that came with an NA game will not work with a UK PSN Account, likewise a UK one will not work with an NA Account.

The online pass needs to be purchased from the same PlayStation Store/region as the original game came from, they are region-locked.

There is a possble way around this though, it's not something I have tried but others have, sucessfully, you could make a new account on your PS3 for the region where the online pass is for, then you should be able to use the online pass!
