So I purchased a couple PS4's from Target this morning locally and noticed that in place of the typical blue PS seal there was just a clear strip of plastic tape instead. The remaining PS4s in the display case were the same. The sales associate assured me they were new and unopened. Anyone else notice this??

Dont worry about it. Im sure there is a reason for that.
Some have said its because it was opened at the factory to insert the 3 voucher codes for Plus, Music Unlimited, and $10, and resealed with this blue PS sticker. As long as it has a cleat seal on the flap, you're fine.
Besides, you have a warranty in casse something goes wrong.

Where stuff that should not matter, matters!
Incorrect, if you tried to return a a ps4 that had a clear piece of tape to gamestop they would raise alarm over it because they had blue tape. If we the consumer are being held by a standard then we will hold them by the standard, I bought a ps vita from radioshack.com and it came with the tape cut open and re sealed and i raised alarm until I got a refund, this is hack work and should be brought to attention at once, The psX , ps2, and ps3 has watermarked sealing tape, why does the PS4 not have it ?
You are missing the point in a rush to... heck, dunno?
It is well documented they came both ways for very specific reasons.
Thusly, matters not.
The truth will set you free... But it may sting a bit...
