OLD>>>All PS+ Items to date (3/1/11 update, #25)...$409.07 of free items thus far ($16.36 free per update, $40.90 per month), $339.34 saved from discounts!

16 replies 206 views Edited Mar 25, 2011

There is now a new topic that will be edited for each update. PLEASE use that topic when posting. The link to it is directly below. Thanks!

http://community.us.playstation.com/thread/3415930?tstart=0

Here is this weeks update, the 25th update thus far. Enjoy!

Side note, I am looking to add some more features to my google doc (ex. the ability to select one or several updates and add up just those values so PS+ members who joined later can determine their own values, I also have a few more ideas), but I'm pretty much at the extent of my knowledge of excel or google docs. So if you are good with spreadsheets and know how to do some of those things please send me a PM. If you help, you will get credit for your work plus 25% of my profits (which happens to be about $0.00 with no foreseeable increase in that amount).

Side note 2, the free items per update value went down this week due to Sky Fighter counting as an update with no free items offered. The monthly value went down because it was a start of a new month. We are in the 10th different month that an update has been offered, but we are only about 9 months into the program (I hope that makes sense). Thus as each new month progresses, the average monthly value of free items will increase.

I was very unhappy to login to my new PS+ membership and see most of the $0.00 priced objects in your spreadsheet are no longer free.  I honestly felt like you were lying to forum members on behalf of Sony.  I basically just paid $50 for Sonic 1, Spyro 3, and a few crappy themes and avatars I would never use and access to demos that companies should be begging me to play.

I'm sorry that you thought that my list was anything other than the PS+ items to date (as the title of the topic states). No where did I, nor anyone else say in my topics that those items were currently available for download. If you could read, you would see me state "add up just those values so PS+ members who joined later can determine their own values". That should signify to a person whom knew nothing about PS+ and was basing their $50 investment on a post created by some random person acting in no stated official capacity on Sony's behalf that maybe people who join the program later might not get all of the items in that list (why else would their values change?). With that said, you are able to look at the items in the PS+ section of the store (and THIS LINK ) BEFORE you purchased to see what is currently offered. Also a bit more searching and you would discover the details of the PS+ program.

If there is one thing we should all remember is that if you see something on the Internet, especially if its in a location that is open for anonymous conversation, then you would be wise to look for confirmation some where else. pr0d1gy, you have no one else to blame for your assumptions other than yourself.

Well I don't need to be able to read to see that you're hanging from Sony's tit.  These threads should not be allowed to remain in this forum due to their very misleading nature, and since they're still here and so numerous I have to think Sony wants your misleading threads here for a reason.

Just a fair warning to anyone thinking about buying PS+.  Notice how they allow him to insult me unhindered.  Well "mark", you insulting me surely justifies you linking a spreadsheet to your thread that shows about a dozen games being free as well as a number of avatars and themes, though, right?

Silly kids and their internet bullying tactics.

Thank you for your reply pr0d1gy. I still fail to see where I said these were the current offerings, rather than a list of All PS+ items to date, along with where I insulted you (pointing out errors in *assumption* is not an insult, unless you take it personally). I figure that since you claim I did this then you would of pointed out an example (in all fairness "If you could read" could be considered aggressive, maybe rude, but I wouldn't consider it an insult in this case considering you point out yourself that you don't need to read to be able to make your own conclusions) if it was true. I would also like to point out that since my first thread (link here) on 1/4/11 that you were the first person to state that you made an assumption that this was everything currently available for PS+ download. I really do think that you will get your full value out of PS+ and 9 months from now your free values will match closely to what I currently list. The best thing to take from your error in assumption is to learn to research several sources over what you see in life (especially on the internet).

P.S. I don't work for Sony, but I am a fan of their products and am willing to support a good deal when I see it, regardless of where it comes from. My spreadsheet was created for my own analysis to determine my value from PS+. I figured some people would like this list so I decided to share it with members of these message boards. The limitations of these boards to edit the original post is the limiting factor that causes multiple threads. Though should Sony (or any one else who wants to send me money lol) decide that they want to pay me for a list that I created, I would gladly take their compensation. Until then, I will still continue to make my update threads for free. Expect to see a new one with the PS+ Spring Fever discounts in the next day or so.

P.S.s. I think that I will now add a "pr0d1gy disclaimer" to all my further updates to help prevent errors assumption.

P.S.s.s. That previous statement might be considered insulting to some, but it wasn't intended to be so.

Maybe add a new column that shows when the content was pulled from Plus? That way there is no confusion about what's current. The spreadsheet doesn't make clear that not all content is current so I can see why someone could view that list as everything you get.

SpyDude,

When initially setting up my spreadsheet, I considered adding the removal date. I didn't do that due to a lack of information of when things were removed (remember I only started to compile this list around Jan 1). Based upon solely the spreadsheet, I can see where some one can be confused. This confusion is lessened when considering that I only post the link to the spreadsheet when referencing all PS+ items to date (done both inside my threads and elsewhere). I guess that I am at fault for an assumption that people would see "All PS+ Items to date" as just a complete list of things offered at one point in time rather than "All PS+ Items currently available for download" when it comes to the threads. As such, I will add the "pr0d1gy disclaimer*" to all future topics to prevent further confusion. I will probably also add a link to the blog from where all of the info for the PS+ offerings originated from as it has been including removal dates for content as of late.

*pr0d1gy disclaimer states that not all items listed are currently available to download for all PS+ subscribers regardless of purchase date of PS+ membership. Your availability of downloads will vary depending on date of membership purchase, time between purchases of memberships, what you downloaded while a member and other unforeseen issues. Author provides no guarantee of accuracy or completeness or express warranty in this list. Please use caution when making assumptions based upon information found on the Internet. The Author of this list is not Employed nor afflicted nor has a family member whom works for/with Sony Corporation (SNE) or any of its subsidiaries.
