I've been working on this problem for a couple of days.
I have a PS3 Slim (CECH-2501B).
Both the wireless and wi-fi connections have stopped working.
I had one repair company say I might need to replace the antennas, however, looking at the actual antennas, there is no reason for them to fail. They do not involve circuitry. They plug into the motherboard.
Would it be safe to say that the motherboard needs replacing?
You say wireless and Wi-Fi, have you tried pluging into the router directly, or maybe factory reset your console, after you do a back-up of course.
My PS3 CECH01. (;-)) See my Tome for my fix on Content Manger not working. http://community.us.playstation.com/docs/DOC-1377
|Welcome to the PS Community.
adhender, help us help you. BlueTooh is Bluetooth. Wi-Fi is Wi-Fi. Wireless can be any connection done without wires. If you want to get down to the meaning of the word, it's anything without wires. e.g. cats are wireless.
|Please answer the following questions.
On the PS3 while doing the wireless network setup, is the PS3 able to find any Wi-Fi networks?
Are you able to use the PS3 's controller (Sixaxis and/or DualShock 3) without any problem?
Well, the bluetooth board doesn't have an antenna.
And if your PS3 does not detect a Wi-Fi signal, try unplugging your router and then re-plug it back in after about 1min.
If your PS3 is simply not detecting ANYTHING..... you have some serious issues with it....
