Here is a question; Will the upcoming Playstation 3D Display (Model Number: PS398078) only work with Playstation branded 3D glasses (Model number: PS398079) or will the display be compatible with other Sony branded 3D glasses such as the youth size model TDG-BR50/B.

There are a couple of reasons for my question. I am thinking the Playstation branded glasses will be to big for my 6 year old son and would like to get him the youth size glasses to make it easier when he watchs the 3D family films on Blu-ray.

I am also wondering if we can the glasses that are currently on the market as they are cheaper. Amazon has active wireless 3D glasses for up to 20 dollars cheaper than the Playstation branded glasses.

You also might want to consider getting the 3D 32" Vizio 3DTV instead. It retails for the same price ($500) , has a much higher contrast ratio (200,000:1 vs. 5,000:1), and best of all it uses passive 3D glasses (the same 3D glasses you get at the movie theater) so you will be able to easily get cheap 3D glasses that will fit your son.

If you are interested you should be able to find this set at your local Walmart....

I don't think it's such a bad idea. I love the idea of playing split screen w/o actually having to divide the screen.

According to all reports, the split-screen function will give each person their own 2D screen however each person must wear a pair of the 3D glasses.

Here's a new video about the PS3 3D Display:

According to Game Informer, you can still get Resistance 3 as a pre-order bonus if you place the pre-order, through Gamestop, on or before September 30, 2011.

Not only is it planned to be out the day after Black Friday, but if you pre-order through Sony, you get Resistance 3 as a pre-order bonus as well.

So anyone who just watched SONY's E3 press conference probably saw what was said to be a more affordable entry point into 3D.  However they did not give any details beside the facts that it will be 24" and come with a game (They showed R3) and pair of 3d glasses.  The price point will be $499.99.  What do you guys think?...Good deal or not?

Honestly I would be tempted to get this but there are a few details I would need to know first.  I personally use the same screen for my PC and PS3 so this screen would have to work well as a 2d monitor and 1080p support would be mandatory for my PC with SLI GTX 460s.  I'd also like to see it support a nvidia 3d set up... This product could be a good deal but if they cut too many comers to keep cheap it will not be worth it.  We will have to wait and see.

I would rather get a SAMSUNG T23A750.
