The NVG card would play games a lot smoother than a UMD would. I'm happy to see that sony is using cards instead of UMDs because flash based memory reads faster than a UMD, and is more quiet. Maybe it stands for next version gaming?

After some look in to this: What Does NVG Card Stand for?

1. Next Version Gaming Card

2. Next Video Generation Card

3. New Vita Gaming Card

4. New-Generation Vita Gaming Card

5. Night Vita Gate Card

6. Night Vision Goggles

Well sony has my brain storming still. But i will leave clue to it and N would stand for somemthing with gaming world.

V would stand for something in that world of gaming life so vita. G would mean something or stand for the card itself or who knows.

SO i am guessing Nation Vita Gaming Card better know as NVG Card. That will be my finaly guess for today and if i am right or half way close then give me high five like and comment.

That's correct. Solid State does not suffer from lens defocusing (think shaking an early discman from the 90's and making the music skip) and has practically zero seek time and has higher data throughput.
