"... a callous and corrupt industry that stowes and sells violence to it's own people".

Unlike the industry he represents, which sells fear and death to it's own customers and everyone else.

The organization he  represents has fought tougher gun control laws in the past, and now are trying to blame everyone else except themselves. He, and others in his organization, often say that "if only one of the teachers had a gun, then they would have stopped him". Well there were armed guards in the school at Littleton. CO. and that didn't prevent what happened.

The guard on the scene, a man by the name of Neil Gardner, was in his car eating lunch when he received the distress call from the school custodian. When he finally confronted shooter Eric Harris in the back of the school, was in a position to fire on him and did, missing completely. Later the same security guard saw Harris again through a broken window, and fired on him, again missing completely.

http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2000/columbine.cd/Pages/DEPUTIES_TEXT.htm

Back in August in New York outside the Empire State Building, a man killed to former co-workers, and police opened fire on the killer... hitting nine innocent bystanders. In the infamous case of Amadou Diallo, police fired 41 shots on Diallo, and only hit him nineteen times. That's less than fifty percent.

So if history suggests anything it's that the "good guy with a gun" can't seem to hit the broad side of a barn from the inside.
