Re: NRA Blaming Video Games for the Violence.

I have a problem with gamers distorting reality and virtuality. I've worked in a popular gun chain in the past and this does concern me. I've had teenagers range in age from 16-21 come in and talk about the guns as if they've actually used them. I've questioned them about their experience and their enjoyment of shooting. After a few questions you figure out they've only  played it in a video game. I play many top rated shooting games and enjoy exhibition, competition shooting...there are major diffrences. I'm not against violence in video games nor do i blame video games. I BLAME THE GAMERS NOT HAVING ENOUGH SENSE TO REALIZE THE DIFFRENCE IN WHATS FAKE AND WHATS REAL!

I blame the parents for not teaching their children what reality is. I have not shot a gun since Boy Scouts more than 25 years ago. I know developers do strive to give virtual weapons the look and actions of real life weapons (such as recoil, reload and other minor aspects.) Yet shooting a gun in real life and shooting a gun in a video game are not the same thing and can never be the same thing.

If these children feel otherwise then obviously their parents have not taught them anything. Most gamers I know, know the difference between reality and fantasy. These children see guns in movies, tv shows and on youtube and think that it's cool and simple. They use them in video games and don't understand the inherent differences. Anyone with any amount of common sense will know the differences. Unfortunately common sense seems to be rare these days, whether a person is an adult or a child.

Re: NRA Blaming Video Games for the Violence.

PaPAWarlock i do agree with you about the about the parental issue and the gun reality issue. i know many gamers aswell who know the diffrenece. But whats scary is theirs a large number who don't. I dont belive some parents know what reality is because they watch keeping up w/ the kardashians, real houswives, honey boo boo, repo shows, and belive their real. as i said i dont blame games nor do i blame hollywood...the blame lies on those who commit these heinous acts and blame their perspective of reality and virtuality.
