Since I started this post I've played 2 more games, one on normal & one on easy. I got 0 VC on normal, and 1 VC on easy. Way to throw your own game in the trash 2K, what a bunch of geniuses you are!

They are "geniuses", they're getting people to spend more money after they've ponied up $60 for a game. It wasn't any different than with NBA 2K13. You either keep playing and eventually you get better, or you pay the couple bucks to improve your attributes.

Seriously though, if you're a basketball fan you'd already know that no rookie comes out of college and makes a significant impact. And if you know anything about basketball, you'd understand that compiling stats isn't enough. You have to set pick and rolls, cover men on defense, get back in transistion, grab rebounds, contest shots, pass the ball to the open man, etc. In other words you have to actually PLAY the game, and not try to be a human highlight reel. Yes, it may be boring not to take it to the rim every trip down the floor, but you have to do the little things that help you win. The better all around game you play, the more playing time you'll get, then the VC will start piling up.

But if you're unhappy with the game, then instead of throwing it in the trash why not sell it, and try to recoup some of your money? Sure you may want to stand on your "principles", but if you can get at least half of what you paid, then you'd be better off.

How the eff do you get ZERO VC in ANY game? At my worst I still got at least 150 per game.

By thinking you're Michael Jordan, and trying to be a one man wrecking crew.

I'm averaging 18ppg with 18mpg. The past dozen games I've probably average 25ppg. You can become a highlight reel surprisingly easily, it just takes a little while to get used to the controls and rules of basketball (I didn't and still don't even know exactly what makes a PG a PG, a PF a PF, and so on).

  • Point Guard (PG)= The main player who handles the ball, dribbling upcourt on offense. Usually the shortest guy on the team, even though Magic Johnson was 6' 9". The Point Guard is the "quarterback" on a basketball team. He runs the offense, calls out plays, and is responsible for setting up the offense and getting the ball to the guys who can most easily score.
  • Shooting Guard (SG) = Primarily a scorer, Maybe a little taller than a point guard, but his specialty is shooting. Will usually take three point shots, or set up to shoot on a pick and roll, or will "stop and pop".
  • Small Forward (SF) = Commonly called a "swing man", he's an all around player, usually around 6'7" or so. He can shoot, drive to the basket, play defense, and does some rebounding. They often shoot from long range, but in most cases they are good ball handlers and will drive to the basket.
  • Power Forward (PF) = One of the "big men" on the team. Provides defense. Rebounding, and will be what's called a "post up player". Meaning they will have their back to the basket, and will often be positioned down by the baseline near the basket, and will muscle the ball in towards the hoop. They usually use their size to do things ike rebound, and set picks on offense.
  • Center (C) = Usuaully the tallets guy on the team. He's the "big man in the middle". The Center will play under the basket at times, and use his size to his advantage, using it to score and grab rebounds. He's not a long range shooter, and usually at over 7' tall, he doesn't need to be. The Center is primarily a post up player, and will use his long reach to score over opponents.

OP is just bad at the game. I'm having a lot of fun with the myplayer gameplay. It's a lot better this year, I like that there is actually somewhat of a storyline.

I haven't played this game yet, but I imagine you get VC points for scoring points with your character and getting assists and such. Maybe you're not scoring enough with your player?

Hahaha **Edited**, from where I'm sitting I'm counting 5 basketball games that I own for 2 separate systems going back to '07. Three of them are 2K. I think I know a little bit more about this game than somebody who just stumbled upon it yesterday. I'm no pro but I slaughter everybody I've ever played except 1 friend of mine, who probably **bleep** to this game like you guys. Thanks for posting the positions bud, like you're the only one in the world who knows that **edited**

I picked a shooting guard with all skill shots like "corner shot", "3 pt specialist", etc. and put most of my attributes where a shooter would. Anything less than a C grade equals 0 VC. C minus = 0 VC. It's practically impossible to make an impact out there when my guy is a rank 70 and he's matched up against pros. When I do play on "rookie" I'm forfeiting 50% of my earned VC anyway, so that's stupid. I'm not saying make this game for **bleep** like NBA Live '14, but at least make it so it doesn't take hundreds of games just to level up a single attributes column. It's not fun grinding for an entire year until 2K15 comes out, just to have a decently reliable player. I see myself throwing another couple hours at it and if it goes nowhere then **edited** it. It will still fulfill it's role as a local multiplayer game - the original reason I bought it.

" I'm no pro but I slaughter everybody I've ever played "

Yet you can't get above a 'C' rating. Lol.
