Sony needs to reveal its use quickly. My question is l, how did they display the Vita's screen on a big screen during that Tokyo and E3 event WITHOUT a PS3. I do recall something sticking.out from the top. Unless it was pre-recorded game play and they just made it seem like they were controlling the games.

From memory, I recall a dude standing behind the player with a camera recording it.

Yes usually there is a cameraman filming footage from behind the demonstrator. One time I did see a Vita output video to a screen, but there was a special connector at the bottom, not the top...

On top of my Vita there is a flap by the volumes buttons which has what looks like a video out port under it. What cable would I need to get video out? I thought it might take some sort of HDMI cable but none that I have fit in the slot.

i was looking at the mystery port with a flashlight and saw that the hole on the left is threaded and the one on the right is for a peg of some sort from whatever  accessory  goes there. it kind of looks like its a small jack input but its not. a light/flash for the camera would be cool, or an antenna for radio, tv, or wifi, and definitely a rumble pack which has been suggested already, a small solar panel would be awesome but if they made that i think it would be for the bottom port since it deals with power.
