Hey, I tried to install the new update 4.10 but it just stops at 99% and doesnt continue. I cant do anything. Ive put it in safe mode, took out hard drive and put it back in, cleaned the system and nothing still. This is the second time this happend. Last time it happend was two updates ago and i left it on 99% for about 2 days straight. It couldnt fix it for a bout 1 month without turning it on. I really dont want to have to do that again since i just got some new games today to play. Any ideas or ways to resolve this problem?

my ps3 has been doing this since i have had it with every update it gets, i been gettin it to work by just keep reset the ps3 so the update has to re install and if it stops at 99% again just keep resetin it. it has worked for me and mine is back on now hope this helps
just down load the up date to a USB stick from the the site to your computer first, then upload it to the PS3.I have done it this several times....
im having the exactly same problem, and tried doing the same things. nothing works. When i unplug it and turn it back on it goes straight to the install screen. ive been trying to fix it for the past 3 hours
I'm getting the same error haven't been on my PS3 in a week
Tried today needed a System Update 4.10 did that and it has been stuck on 99% since.
Tried about 10 times literally but no luck, tried safe mode as well but the same screen comes up system update
Can anyone help please?
I had the same issue. I everything in safe mode, except reformating the hard drive. After trying everything but that, I did the system update from Safe Mode. I once again got stuck at 99%, so I rebooted (held down the power button until it rebooted). It came right back up to reinstalling the update. I powered off three more times, all with the same result.
I read on another thread that someone mentioned unplugging the ps3 for five minutes to clear the RAM. I did this and it once again came up to the system update install (resuming the install). I let it run and switched over to watching TV while it ran. When I checked back 30 minutes later, the PS3 was at the initial setup screen (HDMI detected). I proceded with the setup and everything appears to be working now.
Hopefully this helps you out.
