I have about 43 PSP games and I lost my PSP so I'm getting the PS Vita instead of the PSP will my old PSP games work on the PS Vita.
If they are downloads from the PSN Store they should do, Sony are saying that they are compatible but as with any emulation I would expect about 98% compatibility.
If they are UMDs then no, you are out of luck.
It is. Sony announced way back in January when they first announced the Vita (it was NGP back then) that it would be backward compatible with all downloaded PSP, PS1 classic, and PS Mini games from the PS Store, but it would not have UMD.

The Vita will not have a UMD slot, so it can't play UMD based PSP games. The Vita will be able to play the digital PSP games you buy from the PlayStation Store.
I realize there is no way to play UMDs on Vita, but couldn't Sony, in theory, provide either a discount or free download if we can prove we bought the original game in store? I'm just trying to play Peace Walker on something with two analog sticks is all.
It's totally unfair, yet again western gamers are being scr*wed. It's ok saying they're cheap enough to download off playstation network but A) we already bought them once B) most of the games are expensive that I have copies of $30+ and C) Most of the games I own on umd aren't even available on playstation network anyway! It's a huge let down. Is it really too much to ask to be able to convert my umd games to a digital copy? Seems like just another ploy to get more money out of their western customers to me :-/
