This entry PS1 scored many lives. After it happens, several adventures awaited thousands of players. Destinations how to build cities, save princesses, win international races, win championships fights to the death, using magical powers, investigate crimes, defeating Dracula, solve mysteries, rescue soldiers at war and, of course, save the world.
Today a console costs between 199-299 dollars, and each game comes around 40-60 dollars. In consoles legal, of course. In my day EPIC had a game high cost 30 or 40 dollars, and it was selling much took advantage to exploit children and their mothers. The game with two or three CDs had its price multiplied by the same amount. And even if you could not buy these, could exchange their 3 games he did not play for one of 3 CDs, and then pass on and so forth. It was traditional swap games with friends. More magical than Disney.
Well, I'll leave a list of games that have influenced me and maybe you too marked. And if they care, are all games that still are worth being played.
Best playstation 1 games I've ever played:
Final Fantasy 7: the best RPG I've ever played. A very complete game, with a story so much, so long turned to cinema. What other Final Fantasy get it? The game is over and the graphics are not the most beautiful, but the CGs and the challenges of the game are very good.
Metal Gear Solid: the best espionage action game ever created. The AI of the enemies was not up to much, but try to play hard without the radar, then you will understand why some limitations of enemies.
Resident Evil 1, 2, 3: it was here that I fell in love with zombies. RE1 in a close game 18 hours because we played the Japanese version, and make the area of the frames without a magazine or understand what they're reading, you **bleep**. This battle between Stars vs + Rancoon Umbrella is so epic that even today they continue the saga. But RE4 I think a shift in objectives, turns action game with monsters, only.
Silent Hill: this one I only played the one, and the plot is very cool. The game does not give you scares, but leaves you with your **bleep** in hand to act. Over 90% of the game, you do not see 90% of the scenario. All you have to indicate if an enemy is coming, is your radio that makes noises when approaching monsters. A game with about 6 different endings, including aliens (very cool), guaranteed fun despite the graphic.
Tenchu: here you are a ninja with freedom to roam throughout the city. Reminds me of the proposal GTA3 with Metal Gear Solid, but with a different focus and much more limited. You have a very interesting variety of items, and cause the alert enemies (so you have to be silent as a ninja), shoots shurikens and performs blows surprises that kill instantly. The plot is awful and there are many bugs in the game, but I recommend perform at least the first two missions.
Tomb Raider 1,2,3: the adventures of an archaeologist who aroused libido of young onanistic. A character full of generous curves, always with his pair of pistols endless, pulling levers, fleeing stones and why not facing extraordinary beings like dragons and dinosaurs. A version of Indiana Jones with large bust, thin waist and generous hips. All virtual, but adapted for the small screen Angelina Jolie.
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1,2,3: another game that left their mark on this island. From this came many other similar games, cycling, rollerblading, among others. But scoring hit records and complete all missions skateboarding for various scenarios, only this.
Crash Bandicoot - all: this is definitely one of the best games of playstation, is a kind of Super Mario for the console. In this you control a marsupial harvesting apples, wearing a mask of power, jump on enemies' heads, turns to beat them ... all that stuff. Fun for the whole family!
Mega Man X and Legends: I started playing a game on snes and continued on playstation. Because I did not went to the playstation considering the dispute Nintendo vs Playstation, but I was happy. Mega Man has no mystery, you're a "robot", actually a reploid that fight in favor of a world where machines and humans can live in peace. Game and simple goal, but it brings you great challenges seeking to mount the whole armor of X and defeat Sigma.
I'll end this list here not to get too long and lose the value of indication of some good games. Now there'll connect my playstation still works, and is the giant boxy, and play a little with the Hunk in Resident Evil 2. Maybe run of golden chocobo in FF7 too.

I couldnt agree with you more on those games. They were epic games. But I would also have to ad Brave Fencer Musahi, and Suikden 1 and 2. But like you FF7 would be at the top of my list as well.
