For video sharing or copying from Win7, do you have to use WMP12? I mean if you're just going to look at stuff on the ps3 does the WMP need to be used on Windows or is it ok just to have the media sharing/filesharing enabled in Win7 and that's all you need? I thought once Win7 has media sharing enabled you don't need any other applications, but from what I see WMP is like some interface to video sharing...
I'd rather not have to install any software to do this if I don't, but then if you don't want to install anything then I take it WMP is used by Win7 correct?
I personally don't use WMP12 in Win7, for me it's VLC. and I'd like to know if I have to enable WMP12 at all?
THANKS

No, that program sucks for media sharing to PS3. Google a program called Vuze. It pre-transcodes to work great on PS3.

Vuze, nah, I never liked it as a bitorrent client...
To much bloat for my tastes I like smaller simpler, lightweight apps.
Anything else, besides Vuze, TVersity and PS3 Media Server?

I had all of my devices working and connected. Now the PS3 cannot see any media from my computer no pics or videos. Can anyone help me with what I need to do?
PC file sharing is on and router is connected to PC and PS3 for internet but no sharing?
Cheers!

You need to go into the server's settings and select the folders that contain the media you want to share
