I got 40.4% threw the campain mode on MW3 and now every time I try to play it my PS3 will freeze up. Its not in the same spot everytime, but will freeze up if I try to save and quit. If I let it sit for several minutes it will say disc read error. I've tried restarted in safe mode and doing the file restore. It tells me the threre are corrupted files and then "fixes" itself. This only happens when I play MW3 and not with other games. Anyone have any further troubleshooting advice. Is this the game or my PS3 (old 80gb)? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
If you do a forum search you'll find many threads like this. That leads me to believe it's the game. My advice would be to play something else for a while until they release a patch to address the issue.
what i tried was play another game to "warm up" the blue-ray disc reader laser thingy, then when i play MW3 i get a disc-read error. After clicking ok, i try it again and it works. This works probably 85% of the time for me.
listen the same thing happened to me and i just got my ps3 back today in perfect brand new condition..this is what u need to do....have at least a 4gb flash drive available...... whether your ps3 is in or out of warranty call 800-345-SONY (7669) and tell them about your issue with the disc...they will do the phone troubleshooting with you.. if nothing they do with you works and you still have problems and it is out of warranty it costs $99 plus tax...if you have the original recipt within 1 year of purchase its free..... they send you an empty box to ship it in with instructions..... you put your ps3 in send it to them it comes back in 7-10 days refurbished... message me if u have ?s i got the 120gb slim 2001a model they even replaced a missing rubber on the bottom of the ps3 every disc reads fine now. i wasnt able to play battlefield 3 or batman, mw3 would load but i would get the disc read error in the 1st game..... mw2 and dvds played fine and none of the over the phone troubleshooting worked process went smooth and now all games work smoothly and perfectly fine..... THE ONLY THING THOUGH IS I AM PRETTY SURE YOU CAN NOT HAVE ANY MODIFICATIONS TO THE INSIDE OF YOUR PS3 HARDWARE
