Let's do a petition for a better PSN!

3 replies 79 views Edited Jun 13, 2013

Hi there, I was thinking that with the PS4 on his way, we (the gamers/users and new users) should do a petition to Sony to improve the PSN.

Why? Well, Im not talking about the quality or security actually. Instead, there are things that need to be fixed from Day 1:

1) Be able to change the country/location. This shouldn't be a matter of the PSN. A person can travel (for business or pleasure).
2) When you download a game, you should be able to see what languages has (subtitles or audio), also if optional languages can be downloaded.
For example, there are gamers who like to play games in their original language (Japanese for example) with subtitles in other language.
3) Point 2 should also apply to old games (PS2 and PSX). For example, if you live in USA, you should be able to download Final Fantasy VIII in Spanish. If you live in Spain, you can download the Spanish version.

Any more ideas to add to the petition?

Would you agree to sign it once it's done?

Let's make a better PSN for all!

1) Be able to change the country/location. This shouldn't be a matter of the PSN. A person can travel (for business or pleasure).

(Contrary to the popular "gamer" belief, they aren't doing this to deprive you or certain games. There are things like Value Added Tax, content laws, licensing agreements, copyright laws, and even currency laws that prevent Sony from doing this. Which is the reason why you have the Playstation Store regionalized. In many nations it is actually ILLEAGAL to send money outside the country. And if you're traveling for business or pleasure, why do you want to spend that time locked in a hotel room playing video games? Get out and actually do what you're supposed to be doing; working or getting and SEEING something other than a television sceen)
2) When you download a game, you should be able to see what languages has (subtitles or audio), also if optional languages can be downloaded.

(Again, localized games have different languages, but you do have a good point that it should be on the store listing)
For example, there are gamers who like to play games in their original language (Japanese for example) with subtitles in other language.

(That is something that is up to the developer, and is not something a petiion or saing "C'MON SONY!!" can fix)
3) Point 2 should also apply to old games (PS2 and PSX). For example, if you live in USA, you should be able to download Final Fantasy VIII in Spanish. If you live in Spain, you can download the Spanish version.

(Developers aren't going to go back and add new languages to ten, or even in some cases fifteen year old games. In some cases the developers no longer exist. Support does not "fall to Sony" by default, and the game is essentially left out in the field)

Any more ideas to add to the petition?

I'd like to see a feature that electroshocks someone every time they "suggest" features, or want to make a petition.
