It may be time to say goodbye to the ps3 :(

25 replies 431 views Edited Nov 4, 2013

Looks like the old man had his last day today, I played for about 2 hours, the system unexpectedly shut off and started flashing the red light.  I turned it off for an hour unplugged all the cables and when i turned it back on, same thing.  The wierd thing is I just replaced the hard drive about 2 or 3 weeks ago, could be a coincidence, or maybe not.    It is a 20 gb launch edtion upgraded very recently to 160 gb.

It had a good run, but we must move on. The PS3 would want you to be happy by habing faith in its prodigy.

Now come. Greatness Awaits.

Why? Keep it... If you paid off your PS4 and got games with your PS4 then keep the PS3 it will still last quite awhile and their will be plenty of other games for PS3.. I wish I didn't trade in my PS3 at game stop but needed to pay off my PS4 lol.. But to each their own I guess..

I would dump my PS3, but I need it for TLOU DLC, Lightning Returns and Castlevania Lord of Shadows 2.

Also for any one looking to dump their PS3...you might want to wait a while. I read that eBay is saturated with them right now so the prices are tanking.

There is no way in heck i would get rid of it if i could fix it I would.  It is the backward compatible model, i just got ps+ so there are a lot of games i want to play on it.  Time to break out the ps1 until Nov. 15th.  If the ps4 wasnt releasing in 2 weeks I would go out and buy another ps3

I would but i guess it is just time to jump to the new gen, most of my friends wont have the ps4 but at this point i dont have much of a choice.  My wife wont let me spend money on a ps3 while spending it on the ps4

Has anyone tried to repair this, I am seeing a lot of ads on Craigslist for 40 dollar repairs on YLOD's but it is about an hour and a half away from me.  Has anyone tried this and has it worked for them?
