Is there a way to transfer save data from a PSP to a PS3?

1 replies 1776 views Edited Mar 8, 2012

I bought Final Fanstay 7 a while back for PSP and just this past year got a PS3. I have already put about 25 hours into FF7 on my PSP and don't want to have to start all over again just to play on a TV. So is there any way to send a the save data to the PS3? The game is already on my PS3 just not the data. Any help would rock.

Yes, there is a way. The first thing you need to do is create a virtual PSOne Memory Card on your PS3 in Memory Card Utility. Afterwards, connect your PSP in USB connection mode to your PS3. Your PSP should show up in Memory Card Utility. You should be able to browse to your save and press Triangle to manage your data. Copy your FF7 game save to your PS3's virtual PSOne Memory Card.

When you start up FF7 on your PS3, remember to assign the virtual PSOne Memory Card to slot number 1 using the PSOne emulator settings page, accessible by pressing the PS button on your controller.
