Re: Is getting playstation plus worth it?

Feb 5, 2012

Well it's true though. Paying for discounts doesn't makes sense. That's like buying coupons or gift cards for yourself. And when people that don't know better reward the company, the company then mistakenly thinks they have a good thing and try to bait others into the scheme by removing features from the free model or whatever.

I just don't want to support the problem before it really gets bad. Staying quiet won't fix anything either.

Too many games, too little time.

People do buy coupon books, and gift cards often come with a bonus.  If you save money, it totally makes sense.  It's not for everyone, but it's certainly not for "stupid" people unless they buy it without knowing what they're paying for.  I don't think Sony has removed any features, to be only for PS+, but I do agree that would be really bad.

Everyone has there own opinions on PlayStation Plus, and if your constantly buying from the store then I see it as saving money in the long run. I'm not trying to push that PlayStation Plus is the "best thing ever", but that it has good benefit's to it and you should at least know before you decide to buy it or not.

- I would just like to agree to disagree on this matter though

Remember what I said about not being bright?

It's not free if you're paying $50, and the game can be found in disc format for like $10.

Plus sucks and there isn't proof against that.

Too many games, too little time.

Y'know that only equates to just barely over 4 bucks a month.  Give it a rest.

Here's my stance:

50 bux a year = $4.17 a month.

I was a "free" user for about a year.  I recently joined PS+ for 3 months to check it out....I will be subbing to a full year.  If ya got 4 bucks and change - go for it.  If 4 bucks and change a month sets ya back then you should pass on it.

I swear......some people will complain about a free sammich.... ....I have (multiple) other consoles in the house and for 50 bucks a year some other companies don't include squat in that membership except the ability to play YOUR games online.

Cry somewhere else.

Take care now...buh bye.

I don't care how small you boil it down to, that's just a marketing scheme. I could say send me $1 a day, you won't miss that right? Oh but NOW you'll realize that money will add up. Funny how that works...

$4 a month to save $2 on a game maybe $3. Yup seems like a fantastic deal. I'm thrilled they offer free online so don't get me wrong there. But I think it's terrible that Live charges a fee and think Sony's 'premium' program is just as stupid. You'd complain about a free sandwich if it was spoiled. Perhaps if you kept the content for $50 instead of just rented it. There wasn't even worthwhile content for the 2 or 3 free trials I had to skip. Oh well.

Too many games, too little time.

If I sent you a dollar a day what would that get me?  At least I get some enjoyment out of my 4 bucks a month.

Look, Sony is a business and they are running their business to make a profit.  There's no eeeeviiiil scheme to "get" DPsx7.  They provide a service for free and offer a buy up plan where folks can get a little more.  It does cost money for equipment, server upkeep,  internet domain traffic, software updates, etc...so I expect a good company to turn a profit to keep up with the times, development cost and those types of things to stay competitive.

I think we all get it - you don't like PS+...that's ok....not faulting you for your opinion...but it is just that - YOUR opinion.

I plan to get it at some point. The automatic downloads, QORE,games, cloud saving, etc look like enough of a bonus for me.

Not opinion, fact. And what you're doing is telling them it's ok for this kind of crap which will lead to features being removed from the free and tucked under the pay model. THEN you'll wish you listened to me sooner. There's no such thing as free under a subscription model, it's a scam. And that other stuff they already had in place and likely paid off by now. Don't assume your money is going to a 'good cause'.

Um I'll show ya where to get retail games when they price drop for that $1 a month.

Too many games, too little time.
