Can constantly restoring the ps3 be fatal to the HDD if I do it often?
Note: I am not restoring ps3 settings but wiping the data off the drive and putting it in "factory settings"
one of my games froze so I am reformatting again to see if it wil be like that again.
I am afraid the haevy rewriting will shorten the life of the HDD, of course I can get a 500 gb one for like 40 $ but nevertheless money is money and I don't want to waste it.
No, it is not fatal to keep wiping your hard drive.
You might be wasting your time though if there's something else that's causing your game to freeze. The Restore PS3 System command doesn't get better the more you use it. If you need help troubleshooting your game freezing issue, then just ask.
Well it doesn't take so long, all I do is when I start restoring I cancel then the system reboots, data is unusable so it formats the drive in like a minute and boots in factory settings.
