Is Call of Duty done for?

27 replies 3084 views Edited Jun 13, 2013
As well all know, every COD has practically been the same game for years now. Little innovation has been done to the engine and gameplay, yet it's the biggest shooter on the market. Most of us have seen the Ghosts trailer and gameplay, and it looks basically like the same exact game that its been for years, just on a newer platform. With all of the new games and IPs that we saw at E3, do you think their is a chance for the crown to be taken from Call of Duty? I loved what I saw from developers at the conference, and it looks like they are really trying to innovate the multiplayer next gen. I think COD has some stiff competition, and they should feel worried for their future. This current gen really lacked in innovation when it came to multiplayer, and a lot of games turned out to be poor clones of COD. With the new hardware now, I think developers get to really show what they got.

Should COD be worried? Do you see their crowd dying out over the next few years? What game do you think has a chance to compete with Ghosts?

Are there still 12 year olds with PS3-4, Xboxes? Yes, then COD will Thrive.

As much as I want to see the series go, people will snatch it up like it's the greatest thing ever each and every time.

No, the series is not going away, but I'd sure like it to. Maybe the DLC month exclusivity on Xbox One will do something... Maybe...

Has anyone seen Titanfall? Gameplay footage is near the end of the Microsoft E3 Conference and man does that game look like a lot of fun - and the game is being built by Respawn Entertainment, ex-employess of Call of Duty (high profile figures even). It has the perk/point system and best of all Mechs that can kick **beep**! Plus the Multiplayer campaign mode sounds great! Each faction determines the turn of the story of the game, that's awesome!

I hate that series with all of my life. I was hoping Black Ops 2 would be the end of it. I'm so sick of it, I'd rather have Battlefield take over, and I hate that one too.
