Important for those upgrading HDD on Day 1

20 replies 494 views Edited Nov 14, 2013

Someone asked this in PS4 support, but I figured I should probably post it here in case no one visits it.

To those upgrading on Day 1: The 1.50 Firmware Patch (for USB Stick) is DIFFERENT than the one for everyone else.

Upgraders should use this link: http://us.playstation.com/support/systemupdates/ps4/pc_update/index.htm

And those who are sticking with stock should use this link: http://us.playstation.com/support/systemupdates/ps4/index.htm

The first link's update is around 850MB, the second link is only around 300MB.

If you install the 850MB one, it will clear any user data already on the PS4, so take care to get the right one.

Yes, it also contains the 1.50 update as well.

But it includes other important stuff for the new HDD that the user will be installing.

Replying to bump, I think this is important and should even possibly be sticky'd as I am sure many people will need this info on day 1.

Heres to praying that the full install re-installs the playroom... it should.
