AHHHHHHH
 
For that you have to power cycle the modem.    Meaning.... unplug the power to the modem, and plug it back in, wait a minute or two for the lights to go normal, then power on the PS3.  It should work.  But he WILL have to repeat this step EVERY TIME HE SWITCHES THE PC and PS3!!!!!!!  I'd tell him to buy a router.  lol

Yep, that worked! Thanks for your help bro! We've been like a month trying different settings and stuff...I told him to borrow a router and try, but he didn't...now he should thanks bro.

I have a 1.5 mega bit connection and a Linksys WRT54G router connected with a wire to my ps3 works like a dream and have super fast downloads.  I can download Graw 2 in 1-2 hours

ok well i have all i need except a connector cord.(by the way im talking about online 4 the ps2 not ps3). and all i could find was a phone cord wich will do me no good.but i saw there r 2 usb spots on the ps2.i kno because of 2 headsets but i was wondering u could use 1 of them for the usb cord and the plug the other end into the computer?will that work?

What configeration should i have on my ps3.  My router is getting a 1.5 DSL connection connected directly to a modem and my PC.  It wirelessly gives internet to my laptop and psp and via cord gives internet to my ps3.
