"1945, shortening of independent; used of film production companies since 1920s, of theaters from 1942; extended by 1984 to a type of pop music by such labels."
Please put your trophy profile as private, otherwise I might have believed you own a PS4 (thanks for the fake pic though)."
So because you have different tastes, as we ALL have different tastes in games (and everything in life) means that you are of the belief that such games are of "poor quality" ?
Your logic does not compute.
It's not that the indi games aren't my taste, it's just I think they suck. I don't have a "taste". I'll play and buy anything.
No. You're kidding yourself if you "dont have a taste".
There are elements of Rain that you like.... Ok. Those other games that you don't like, don't have elements of Rain. So it is your belief that any game that lacks those aspects are "poor".
You have a taste. You're just too lazy to identify them.
The craze with independent games of late seems to draw from the fact that these are generally both affordable downloads and pack a certain amount of creativity that isn't under the overbearing umbrella of a major publisher. Though of course with Sony handing out money to support these underdogs, it seems as if the developers they choose to fund are the ones they have the most faith in.
Not all games will appeal to every person, independent or not. Some of the strongest candidates for independently-driven games on the PlayStation 4 obviously stem from the likes of Resogun, Flower, and Sound Shapes. These titles and more are out there with bundles more expected for arrival. From Ray's the Dead to Rime, the PlayStation 4 will eventually flourish in indie games just as it will with major releases from different studios. Right now though we're still only about four months into the life cycle. A year from now the potential to have spent more time with different indie games may have happened, and your opinion on the value of a greater number of them may or may not develop as your experiences on the system grows.
I've had fun with almost all the indie titles released so far. I'm really looking forward to Octodad, Transistor and Teslagrad.
I hope the rumor of Drunken Robot Pornography coming to the PS4 is true, I'm a big fan of Dejobaan games.
