Hi!

Diablo is an old style isometric rpg. It revolves around building a character with items you find in the world, so you will face hordes of enemies and explore the map and replay the game to obtain more and better gear for your character.

In short, a lootfest!

Diablo III is the latest installment and has some significant deviations from the series. It allows for character re-spec on the fly, for example, whereas before you would commit points to stats or specific spells and be stuck with them. It is also somewhat shorter than previous games, and the PC version had several significant flaws.

The PS3 version, however, delivers powerful and rewarding couch and online co-op lootfest exerience, with beautiful graphics and an entertaining campaign with many difficulties and unexpected depth of secrets (find special enemies who drop keys and materials and recipes you need to access secret areas)

I wrote a lengthy review here, if you're interested:

Re: I need info on Diablo III

[ Edited ]
Feb 8, 2014

Hero is sent to discover that the mystery of the falling star is a Stranger who cannot remember who or what he is. He recalls a sword in his possession that broke into 3 pieces that fall to Sanctuary in the vicinity of the Cathedral in Tristram. The Hero then pursues all three pieces of the sword to re-forge it only to have Deckard Cain realize the sword belongs to none other than Tyrael, the Archangel of Justice. Shortly thereafter, Cain is killed by the demoness Maghda, working under the Lesser Evil, Belial’s command. Maghda then proceeds to kidnap Tyrael and the Hero runs off to rescue him. After working their way down Leoric’s manor and estate, the Hero confronts and defeats the Butcher and successfully rescues Tyrael from Maghda’s clutches, returning his sword, El’Durin which helps to restore Tyrael’s memory. During the scuffle, Leah learns of her mother’s whereabouts and finds out she may be residing in Caldeum. The Hero, Leah, and Tyrael all set out for Caldeum immediately.

Upon arriving in Caldeum, the Hero learns of the turmoil surrounding the desert city. Their child ruler, Emperor Hakkan, has appeared to grow more and more troubled as of late, placing only trust in his suspicious new royal guards.  The heroes then move aid the city in its trouble by freeing the Iron Wolves and learning of what’s been happening around the Kingdom. Leah and Tyrael, in the meantime, go out in search of Leah’s mother who has been said to be hiding somewhere in Caldeum.  When the Heroes return from saving the Iron Wolves, the Emperor asks to see them. They are accused of treason and Leah has been caught the royal guards. The Emperor leaves to let the guards kill them all. The Heroes escape and head into the sewers in search of Adria, Leah’s mother who is being held captive by some demons. After rescuing her, they learn that she is in search of something called the Black Soulstone that has been trapping all the Evils when they were vanquished on Sanctuary. Adria and the Heroes can use the Black Soulstone to vanquish the last 2 Evils (Belial and Azmodan) so that the Burning Hells can stop invading Sanctuary. In order to do this, Adria instructs the Heroes that they must revive Zoltun Kulle, the original creator of the Black Soulstone. The Heroes set out to revive him while Adria helps Leah to control and master the latent powers she has been developing as of late, explaining to her that she may be awakening as a Nephalem. On their way to Zoltun Kulle’s lair, the Heroes learn that Belial is actually in control of the Emperor and has been causing all the trouble in town as of late. When Zoltun Kulle is finally summoned back to the physical realm, he believes the Heroes are just pawns for the Evils and their master plans, so he tries to kill them all. The Heroes triumph and retrieve the Black Soulstone. They rush back to Caldeum to confront the Emperor, who has now been fully corrupted by Belial. Belial shows his true form and battles the Heroes for control of Caldeum. The Heroes eventually conquer the Lesser Evil and trap his soul in the Black Soulstone with the help of Adria. Azmodan’s armies are on the march.

Leah’s visions and communication with Azmodan confirmed this. The Heroes and Tyrael work to secure Arreat’s defenses and advance the attack. After disarming Azmodan’s artillery, the Heroes take the fight to the Crater.  The Heroes descend into the depths of the Crater in search of the Heart of Sin, in order to call Azmodan out and stop his forces from pouring out into Sanctuary. After a brief battle with Cydaea, one of Azmodan’s foremost lieutenants, and destroying the Heart, the Heroes confront Azmodan.  In the aftermath of the battle that ensues, the Heroes learn from Azmodan that even if he’s killed, there will still be a Prime Evil. At this point, the player can assume that Azmodan was indeed not talking to Leah, but someone else in the Black Soulstone cinematic.

The heroes return to the Bastion Stronghold Keep to learn something is amiss. Upon reaching Tyrael, the Heroes witness Adria betraying her daughter and using her as a vessel for Diablo’s new host body. Using the power of the black soulstone that now holds the souls of all seven Evils, Adria awakens Diablo’s soul and channels his power to take hold of Leah’s body. The Heroes learn that Adria had been deceiving the entire party all along. She had become Diablo’s pawn since the end of the events of D1. Diablo had orchestrated the events of D1 and D2 (and D2:LoD) in order to trap the essences of all 7 Evils into one soulstone, the Black Soulstone, which acts as a power conduit for the Evils. Zoltun Kulle thought he had developed the Black Soulstone in his own ambitions to advance the powers of mankind to push them beyond the level of even a Nephalem. But in actuality, the corruption that took hold of him during the events of the Dark Exile was indeed a grand orchestral plan laid out by Diablo himself. After all 7 Evils were trapped, Adria would use a human host to summon Diablo again but allow him to take control of all 7 Evils as one entity.

(Note: The information in this paragraph is HEAVILY IMPLIED from the knowledge provided. There may be a few discrepancies or changes to the facts as information becomes more available)  Diablo opens a portal to High Heavens to stage his invasion in order to stage a surprise attack. The Heroes help Tyrael recover and follow Diablo through the portal into the High Heavens. The Heroes arrive in time to see Tyrael arguing with Imperius. Imperius will not stand to see humans set foot in the High Heavens. He warns Tyrael of transgressing any further and takes off after Diablo to fight off the corruption taking root. The Heroes and Tyrael push forward and rescue Itherael and Auriel from Diablo’s corruption, who then aid the Heroes in making their way to the Spire, fighting numerous Lesser Lords along the way, including the reincarnation of Izual. The Heroes are visited by aspects of characters that Diablo has tainted or taken the lives of, including Captain Rumford, Deckard Cain, Marius, and Leah herself among others. Diablo uses these apparitions to try to instill fear and despair in the Heroes, in an attempt to stop them from reaching the top of the Spire.

The Heroes make it to the top of the Silver Spire only to be confronted by Imperius himself. He makes ready to fight Tyrael and the Heroes only to witness Diablo corrupting the Crystal Arch, the origination point of all Angels, and thereby falls to the ground in weakness since their link to the Arch is corrupted. The Heroes rush past Imperius fallen form and up to the Pinnacle of Heaven to either stop Diablo once and for all, or die in their attempt. Overall, I think the story does its job of filling in any previous plotholes and explaining any devices that the player didn’t understand or didn’t make sense before. The crucial plot point comes at the end of Act 3. The rest is just ‘conclusion’ and ‘final battle’ material. The new plot makes it out that Diablo had been planning all this since the Prime Evils’ Dark Exile from the Burning Heavens. It seems there were layers upon layers of intricate plans laid out that eventually summed up to this point (so far). The planning goes like this: The Prime Evils devise a plan to be ‘banished’ to Sanctuary by the Lesser Evils (hence, the Dark Exile). They cohort with Izual and trick Tyrael into believing that soulstones can be fashioned and used to work as containers for the essences of the Prime Evils. Upon learning of the Exile, Tyrael bands a group of mages together (dubbed the Horadrim) and sets out to capture the Three across the lands of Sanctuary. After being captured, it is witnessed that Zoltun Kulle has been left deeply ‘broken’ by the ordeal, and rather than killing him, he has been banished to a life of isolation out in the deserts near Caldeum, where he slowly begins to experiment and develop a new soulstone (the Black Soulstone) in order to expand his level of powers. *Note: It seems there is a second layer of planning here in that Diablo (or any of the Three) corrupted Zoltun Kulle and implanted the idea of developing this new Soulstone, with the specific intent of capturing all the Evils into one stone. Once the Black Soulstone was completed, the mages learned of Zoltun Kulle’s demonic experiments, and because he couldn’t be permanently killed, his body was separated from his head and buried so he could not revive himself. By this time, Diablo felt it safe to move forward with his plan, and in doing so, enacts the plots of D1. In its aftermath, Diablo works to corrupt the witch Adria into a follower of Diablo. Being a person of dark magical arts, it can be presumed that she was probably already attracted to the Dark Wanderer for his mystical energies and was easily swayed over. Personally, I believe the birth of Leah was an unforeseen event, but only worked right into Diablo’s favor since Adria was tasked with trapping the other Evils and finding a new suitable host for Diablo.

The plots for D2 and D2:LoD ensue and the Heroes are all inadvertently actually working towards Diablo’s master plan of slaying and trapping every Evil into the Black Soulstone. It is supposed to be assumed that the stone either traps the souls themselves or Adria has been working the background trapping them along the way. This point is never specifically explained, but I read it as the Black Soulstone ‘detects’ their released presence and absorbs them. Adria has simply been watching over the events until Diablo bid her to reveal herself again. Finally the events of D3 unfold, and from reading above, we all know what ensues. It’s important to understand that the Evils are always fighting amongst one another. The only form of unity we’ve ever seen is always from the Prime Evils themselves. It’s possible Diablo’s master plan was agreed upon by the Three since we did not see any sort of quarreling for control of Leah’s body when she is finally consumed. One final concluding comment: everyone seems to be treating this storyline as a ‘complete’ story. I am one to believe this is just ‘part one’ of a trilogy to the last chapter. I’m sure many of you may remember the End of Days Prophecy; many of those verses haven’t come to reality just yet. I am going to hold off final judgment on the story until I’ve seen the rest of the story brought to light, because it feels like there’s a lot more coming that we haven’t gotten to see yet. Game

Re: I need info on Diablo III

Feb 8, 2014

i believe it was copy and pasted.

anywho, Diablo 3 is a fun game. i grabbed the plat trophy for it and will be grabbing it again on ps4. There are a few problems though. Modding and duping gear. It got so bad on the ps3 in the first week that i just sold my copy after i got the last trophy. People were joining our public lobbies to one shot Diablo on the hardest difficulty. PVP was ruined because people had modded weapons. For example a weapon with original Dps 1250.8 would maybe have 10 million dps on it. It was terrible and the devs just let it slide. nothing they could do since cloud saves. People would just say "play with friends" but the whole point of Diablo is teaming up with numerous people, trading gear but once again..the "gamers" detroyed it with glitches, mods to try to look boss and act like they are pro.

If you have a set 4-8 friends that play diablo, go for it!

You don't need a group, you can solo it too, it adjusts difficulty of monsters on the number of people in the group.

I have it for PC

Diablo 2 was a killer and people were addicted as hell.

Diablo 3 is ALOT OF FUN and you will spend countless hours on it going through all 4 acts, the next one adds act 5 and a new class Paladin.

I have it for PC and i for sure am buying Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls for PS4

There are mods for everything now a days. You can lock your game so no one is allowed to join except you and a few friends you have.

If you are buying it, feel free to add me. I am a pro at Diablo

The modding/dupping is still a problem.

You pretty much have to set it to friends only to aviod it on Inferno V.

I would suggest playing your way through Inferno I-IV to meet other players who do not cheat. Once you've made some friends to play with jump all in on Inferno V and let the farming begin.

I am still working on the plat myself, takes a long time to collect $5M gold. I think I'm around $3.8m now
