Know anything about "SuperG" modes?

Will they improve the speed?

Steven_Ca,

While that is true that theoretically wireless B is "fast enough". However, it has different signal inensity/packet loss/etc properties compared to wireless G. Also, in practice, wireless B sucks.

Is Comcast and Roadrunner the same? I think so well... I remember when I lived in NY and I had RoadRunner, that thing was superfast! I live in MA now and I have Comcast and it's slower to me.

Comcast sucks. I'm switching to Fios soon.

Re: I managed to FIX PS3 SLOW WIRELESS SPEED problems

Oct 6, 2008

The only real solution I've found that isn't a solution was to turn off media server on the PS3 and disable 802.11b on my router.

The problem is that the PS3 wireless adapter is limiting throughput, plain and simple. I've done several networks tests and they all come to the same conclusion: A) The PS3 wireless adapter is complete junk and/or B) The PS3 wireless drivers are absolute junk. Speed tests run from witin the PS3 browser show capped bandwidth at 1.5mbps. Running the same test from a wireless laptop on the network shows 10mbps speeds. Both show 1.5mbps upload speeds.

Sony is capping the wireless on the PS3. Why, I have no idea but I'd really like to get it sorted out. In this day and age, WiFi is the most common networking solution. Why in the heck is Sony limiting the throughput?
