If I may ask, can you still return your HDD? Also, do you have a router that has USB ports?
If so, just plug your external HDD into your router and it should broadcast your files. You won't have to format your HDD to FAT32 then.
All in all, try to return your HDD. If you can't, reformat it back to NTFS. See if that works.
just upgraded my ps3 internal HD, bought a harddrive docking station, now the orginal ps3 HD of course is FAT 32. any ideas why it wouldnt be reconized buy the ps3?
Does it show up on your PC?
Did you look under the Music section of the PS3? If nothing displays, try pressing Triangle and choosing Display All. Then manually browse for your music.
Plug your external hard drive or flash drive into your computer.
Then go to this website (the link at the bottom) and download the exe file.
Run the file.
Now select the external/flash drive, that you want to use in your PS3, and click "Start".
After a few seconds you'll have an external/flash drive compatible with your PS3.
