So I just got a DVD recorder (Sadly there is no HDMI output or input) and I was wondering how I can capture gameplay with it.
I set it up but something is wrong.
Here's what I did:
- I took my double sided composite cables and plugged one end into the output of the DVD recorder and the other end into the AV2 input of my HDTV.
- Then I took my PS3's composite cable and plugged it into the input of the DVD recorder. I switch to channel AV2 and all I get is the DVD recorder's menu not the PS3's (The PS3 was on)
- I still had my HDMI cable plugged in as well from my HDTV to the PS3 so i went to channel HDMI4 and that was where the PS3 menu screen was. I went to display settings and I chose AV/ Multi Cart and then I selected the option above RGB. The screen went blank so I went back to channel AV2 and it had a PS3 screen saying I had 30 seconds to keep these settings. I pressed Ok and another menu appeared telling me to select all the supported resolutions my TV has. There were only 2 resolutions. One was the standard one which is automatically check and the other was 480p. I checked 480p as well. Then I scroll to the right and a blank screen appears for 30 seconds and the menu appears again (The resolution choice menu) After that happened I was lost and confused. If i press the PS button it will say that if i exit the settings will not be saved. So what do I do?
Hope this isn't confusing!
Plus, I tried doing this with the Wii and PS2 and everything worked out fine.
I try to record my gameplay. I have a HDMI cable to the Television and one basic cable from the ps3 to the recorder. When I try to record, On none of the channels my playstation is found. The dvd recorder is a Philips 3450H. I tried alot.. Thanks!
