i tryed to reformatt my ps3 and said it wound take 9 hrs. so i left it running over night. but when i went to check on it when i woke up. it said error. (FFFFFFFF). so i hit back and it restarted itself. but when it restarted, all that came up was the appropriate system storage was not found. i bought this system off my brother and he had a roach problem and they were in the system. but i cleaned it out. i tryed your safe mode thing. but it still came up; the appropriate system storage was not found. i need help. or do i just neeed to send it to sony to get it fixed? any help will be appreciated.

what if nothing happens when you plug the usb in to the control? I plug it in and the lights on the control flash then go off and the screen still says connect the controller using a usb cable, and then press the ps button.

Well, even though most people had their success, mine was anything but for several reasons:

I tried to switch my 500GB HDD from the HDD case and replace it witht he usual 120 GB HDD in an effort to stop the 4.40 update from constantly freezing my PS3, but when I do try to do the update via storage media (as instructed from the menu screen), with the 4.40 update from my flash drive and it does not recognize the update inside as it says that the update is not found inside the storage media. To add insult to injury, the screw from the HDD case (and no, I did not tighten it at all) was severely damaged while attempting to unscrew it in an effort to place my current 500GB HDD, thus preventing me from removing the 120GB HDD and installing it onto the HDD case, so now I am unable to perform safe mode in any way on the PS3.

UPDATE: Performed Safe Mode today in hoping to solve the freezing issues, but sadly, it didn't as it continued to have freezing problems whenever I'm online.

when i try to do safe mode i get nothing on my screen it just goes blank, but when i do access it, it says connect controller and when i try to do that the lights on the controller just blink in a fast pase motion
