Re: How many Vita's do you think sold during launch?

Feb 24, 2012

I live in Kansas City and there is no where to buy a wifi only Vita right now. I have a 3g for myself and I had a wifi only preordered for my boy and they are great. I think they will do good if they keep the games coming.

I don't think at this point they need to hit the million range yet, sales will probably increase with upcoming games assuming they are out before the Vita takes any type of price cut. I predict if there are a lot of good games for it by christmas, there will be a huge sale number.

Gas is $4.00+ a gallon so my guess is not very many. My local GS said they sold 10 however.

Well the Walmart in Mililani Hi still has 3G vitas. I checked today hoping that all Vitas would be sold out but they had both wifi and 3G. Though like everything in Hawaii it was more than MSRP. 338.00 for 3G bundle (w/ 8 gig)

From what I hear the vitas arn't selling well, and corporate is already jumping ship towards support on other products/3DS (supposidly).

Hopefully, as long as they keep making awesome games and advertising, the Vita will gain more recognition  and sell more.

I asked everyone at my work about the Vita and they didn't even know what it was :s

yeah i brought mine to work and my friends didnt even know it existed. i know sony spent 50 million on advertising. it would have been nice to do it before it came out to build hype and excitement. maybe during the superbowl when millions watch, especially for the commercials. i guess they thought taco bell was the way to america's heart. speaking of which i am going for a taco

Ha and yeah TacoBell ripped off all of the winners and scammed them out of their Vita.

The superbowl would have been an excellent idea.

That was proven false.

It has very little advertising due to the specific audience (hardcore gamers), so they figure those that want it already know about it.

The Vita's name is also just like "huh?"
