Re: How to play PS3 on Laptop

Aug 14, 2008

I would be shocked if it is an HDMI input.  Quite likely, it's output only.  I did a quick search on that laptop and indeed it has an HDMI out, but have found nothing that says it's an HDMI in.  If it is, cool, but I seriously doubt it based on my 60 seconds of searching...

I am not the only skeptic.

if it turns out it doesn't have HDMI input, then another solution is to buy a USB video capture device. It'll only be SD sine you'll have to use the RCA video cable, but it'll work.

note that with something like the ATi TV Wonder USB, you won't be able to use your HDMI cable. You'll have to use a standard ps3 cable which is why I said it will only be in SD. But, if you're hard up for a solution and abosuletly need to get your ps3 on  your laptop, it'll do the trick.

Re: How to play PS3 on Laptop

yeah, i would rather use the Hdmi cable since it wouldn't require me to buy anything else.

I can't seem to find anywhere on the net that the HDMI port on my HP Compaq 8510p is input or output.

Anyone know the answer?
