You have to have an external hardrive to back it up. Maybe a 8 gig flash would be enough. Depends how much you have on your ps3

I had the same problem and fixed it. The problem is with the wires on the intake motor board. The wires connecting to the board are loose and need to be re-sodered, or it's dead. But its inside the blu ray case. It's the gray battery looking thing with the corkscrew on it and the board that's attached to the triangle shape board. I bought a new one on ebay, it cost $8 for the part and $8 to ship from UK to GA. My ps3 runs like new now (Check01 model). Message me 4 pic of part. Hope this helps

Put the disc in the disc drive as far in as possible while your PSE is OFF! Press the power button and then the disc would be swallowed and you should be able to play

The same thing has happened to me. Right now my Ps3 is not taking the discs in. I tried putting the disc in while it was off,  but when you do that it turns the ps3 back on... I do not know what to do

i had the same problem i cleant the hard disk with a vacuum cleaner and i took out all the usb with the power off and all the cablles out

i turnd it on and it workt agian butt keep th efront usb connections out with noting in tem im dutch so my english is bad hope i hope it works with you to

I recently had this problem, I fixed it by unplugging everything and blow out all of the places dirt or dust can enter then plug it back in put the **bleep** in as far as it will go then turn it on , give the disk a little push and it should swallow it again

Same thing happened to me........but i fell on mine.  Im fixing it myself because i dont have warranty.  If you want to do this buy a blue ray disc drive replace it.  Make sure your have all the right screw drivers.  Ive been letting my ps3 sit there for a year and ver time even got an xbox.  Good luck
