Truth now.  Did you do it?  I know my wife would throw my PS3 out the window, if it didn't cost $300.

Your best bet would be to find an authorized repair agent.  If you open the system, you will void any warrenty.

Sorry to say, I think your husband is going to have to know about it.  Sorry.

Welcome to the PlayStation Community.

Oh dear!

I suppose you could try turning the PS3 around & varying angles to see if the coins will come out, but somehow I doubt very much that would work, you're going to have to get a screwdriver & open the PS3 up, however you should know that this will invalidate any warranty you may have still in effect for the unit & should it require repair in the futture you will have problems.

You also take a chance that you could also damage the PS3 by opening it up, just be very careful if you do take this route.

Your last option I suppose is if the PS3 is playing games, videos etc normally then you jsut leave it & hope nothing happens in the future.

Good luck, glad I'm not your husband Smiley Wink

I wouldn't try jiggling it loose. It'll most likely cause more damage. Opening it it your only hope. I'll link a video that may help but the most important thing is you need a Torx screwdriver to get the screws out.

The video is to prevent YLOD and is geared toward the older "fat" models but may still be helpful. If not I'm sure youtube has others for slims.

Believe it or not I usually try. I just don't have the patience for people who make multiple threads about the same thing or who make new threads without searching like Brit does. That's one of the reasons I'll never make poster of the week and another reason why he deserves it.
