Hello all,
I have been experimenting with a new configuration for recording PSVita gameplay and I have been able to record at 1080p with a fairly high quality contrast. I will continue to work on finding the best methods for recording and will post a tutorial when I believe I have found the best methods. Please let me know what you think and how I could improve it  The gameplay is just a bit of a sprint in NFS most wanted.

Still wish they had video-out for recording...

Likewise,
I agree the sound is pretty bad, I had to overlay it with some music because the mic was just terrible. I will probably get a double ended headphone jack and input sound that way.

Yeah, that's what I used to do when I used to record my PSP.

720p is sufficient

Recording quality is not a problem with the vita, and good camera can capture the screen well, even high end phones like an iphone 4s/5 for example. The toughest part about recording game play from a handheld like the vita is playing with a camera pointing at your screen while you play at the same time.
