HBO GO Please

63 replies 97534 views Edited Sep 3, 2012

I'm not big on Psting on forums, although I read them a lot. I would just like to refresh the impatience and outrage that I do not have HBO GO available on my PS3. I cannot afford to go out and buy a Roku or Xbox or whatever because I pay so much money to comcast every month to have, you guesses it, HBO!!!

My computer is a Macbook Black 2008 2.4G Core Duo 2G Ram and Intel GMA X3100 Graphics card.

Maybe someone knows why streaming HD video chokes up my proccessor so badly? Netflix, HBO GO, Xfinity... all max out CPU unless video quality is downgraded to unwatchable essentially.

PS3 Streams Netflix beautifully, my PS3 is a 2009 era 80GB Fatty. Is it the video card? would any upgrade like RAM or Graphics card fix this?

SONY! HBO GO please!

You should go to PlayStation Blog.Share and vote for this, since that is the only way Sony is going to know what their customers want.

It could be that Microsoft has exclusivity on HBOgo for a set period of time before it hits other consoles, like Sony had with Hulu Plus.

Until that happens, Roku is going to be your cheapest option since you can get one as low as $50...

You can probably find them even cheaper than that if you dont have a problem buying used products.

Also, going to HBO oriented forums and even contacing HBO directly would certainly help to let them know that a PS3 app for their service is wanted.

Good Ideas, Thanks to both. No Tech advice huh?Man Embarassed

Roku's cheaper options don't appeal to me as they lack ethernet and 1080p. Also if they don't have any source of Analog audio output then they useless to my current sad speaker set up. Used might be an option, however.

The blog is where to go you say? I will try that out!

I'm guessing that you are trying to get HBO content on another TV in your home other than your Comcast cable box? Because, through Comcast you should have free access to HBO on Demand, where you can access much of the same content provided on HBO Go...

i wanted to know if ps3 will EVER get HBO GO before I spend money on a
ruku or apple TV. I wanted to know this to prevent spending more money
when a simple app may be added later to the pitiful selection of ps3
apps.

Instead, I got the usual stonewall fake answer from your associate.

You should realize I have a cable box, ps3, and receiver all mashed in
a cabinet with my television.

You should also realize that Ps3 customers+HBO subscribers would
rather not hop down to the Best Buy for more crap to hook up to their
system.

Xbox has HBO GO, Android/iPhone has HBO GO, even Kindle has HBOGO.
What happened? Who are the OVERPAID/OVERINSURED,++++++++++,
know-nothings that have managed to ruin this opportunity for Sony and
Ps3 owners.

There is this total crap software prgm called PlayOn that lets you
view HBOGO using your Ps3. The picture is horrible, the sound is
horrible, the buffering is maddening, and you can forget about trying
to FFWD or Rewind, it will just pause forever and never recover. This
junk ware company is somehow allowed to enable streaming of another
company's premium content; however, Sony and HBO have  FAILED?!

Really? This is the best first post you're going to make?

Get off your high horse and get some education (that means KNOW what youre talking about and not make asinine assumptions) before you start bumping your fingers away like an idiot.

To whom are you talking to? There are no Sony employees that monitor these forums.

HBO GO may come to the PS3, or it may not. Things like that aren't announced until everything is ready. Also it could be that Microsoft has exclusivity on that feature for a set amount of time. They certainly had a 1 year exclusive on Netflix, and Sony had exclusivity on Hulu Plus for a period of time.

Since you have a cable box, you likely already have access to HBO on Demand where you can access much of the same content.

BTW, Apple TV does not currently support HBO GO....

Cable companies wont let HBO go that easily. Nevertheless, the light at the end of the tunnel showed when HBO managed to set free from cable companies in Northern Europa.

Aug 30 (Reuters) - Premium TV channel HBO will launch a Web-only service in Nordic countries that does not require the customer to be signed up with a pay TV service such as cable or satellite.

The world wants a stand alone HBO experience, one where no cable subscription is required. We want to pay HBO not the middleman.
