Gamestop employee pushing customers away from ps4

31 replies 812 views Edited Dec 26, 2013
Is this something they are allowed to do? I was in there trading some games in and a couple were asking about the PS4 and the guy said something like "I have heard nothing but bad things about it from everyone who bought it. More than half the people that bought it here actually traded it in for am Xbox One. And the others returned bricked consoles and decided to go for Xbox One instead."

And THEN he actually pulled out his phone and showed them THIS FORUM and pointed out all the network issues that it's having. Not only did the couple leave with an Xbox One, but there was a kid with his parent that changed his mind and went with an X1 instead!

Lol talk about taking business away from Sony! On the bright side, at least they'll go home with an online service that actually works.

Sorry to burst your bubble but I'm sure xbone is also having issues, some that would be considered worse than what the ps4 is experiencing...

Right now it's mainly network issues with Sony most of which will die down by the end of the week..

Can't change anything about that. Not everyone come's to these forums for a friendly chat. If I was there I would have flat out educated him on his false information. Then made a complaint with the Corp of Gamestop about that employee.

If you look at GameStop's media coverage, Xbone has been the main console that they have been rooting for for a while, now. Still, just because corporate does this, deosn't mean all of the GameStop employees do. I know my local one didn't.

GameStop is in M$'s pocket, they encourage their employees to push M$ products over Sony products, if you look at the layout of most of their stores, Xbox stuff is right up front and Playstation stuff is tucked away in the back. A large majority of their employees are Xbox fanboys.
I used to work for GameStop years ago and was told by the district manager MANY times that I needed to push Xbox stuff, and if the game was in both consoles, to tell costumers that the Xbox version was better.

How is this a bad thing? Ensuring a competetive market is bad now?

Not telling the whole truth is bad, xbox is having their share of issues also.
