There are SSDs cheaper than traditional rotational drives. This isn't 2005

And how big are they?

SSD's still have quite a bit to go before they hit less than $.60 per GB.

You're not going to find a 500GB or 1TB SSD for $70-130. No sir. Not unless you got a few hundred bucks.
At a time where digital is becoming more common, you need storage capacity. 

We don't even yet know if the PS4 has the necessary hardware/software support for SSD's to even make it worth the money. PS3 certainly doesn't support SSDs. 

I'd love to have 500GB or 1TB SSD in my PS4, but I'll wait until it actually releases and other people run some tests before making such a big purchase like that.
